Faith House is located directly across the street from First United Methodist Church at 207 Hickory Street. It was the parsonage until the mid to late 1970's, and since that time the house has been used to host several different ministries of FUMC including youth ministry, disciple classes, Sunday School classes, and as a homework house.
The house had fallen into a bad state of repair over the last several years and there was even discussion about tearing it down and using the space for a parking lot.
It seems God had another plan, and in July of 2003, a church member presented an idea to the Administrative Council and requested permission to use the house as a mission/outreach center. The house would be repaired and maintained entirely on freewill offerings of the people and would not be included in the church budget. The Council voted unanimously to adopt this proposal.
Work to restore the home actually began in late August of 2003, and by mid-October ministries had begun to operate from this location.
