First United Methodist of Hartselle is blessed by the many children that call HFUMC their church home. We take the role of being spiritual champions for our children very seriously. We have many ways of reaching out to our children.

Church nursery is provided for all services for ages zero to four. We are here to provide a safe and caring environment, with a loving and experience staff and volunteers. We ask that you sign your child in and out each time you visit as a security measure

Sunday school is provided for Children ages three years old through fifth grade every Sunday from 10:00 am –10:50 am. Students learn Bible stories and Bible verses on how to live for Christ and disciple others through a curriculum entitled “LIVE BIG”.

Children's Music

There are several opportunities for children to get involved with music here at FUMC. Children’s Choir is offered on Wednesday nights during our Wednesday Night Alive activities. The children perform at least two musicals per year and often have opportunities to participate in Sunday Morning worship services.

We offer a two, three, and five day preschool program for children ages two to five and a Mother’s Day Out for one-year-olds. Our purpose is to teach your children in a loving and nurturing environment. Our teachers are trained and experienced professionals with the care of your children as their top priority. Our program is offered five days a week from 9:00 am — 1:00 pm. We start after Labor Day and end in early May.

This is a time for our elementary children (K-5) to come together to worship and praise God in a “kid’s design”. They will learn through Bible stories, games, puppets, skits, and songs. We provide Kid’s Church for all Sunday morning services.
